UNITED FC WELCOMES COACHES GEORGE JANOVICH & TIM HO!

 
 

We are delighted to announce that coaches George Janovich and Tim Ho have joined the United FC coaching staff!

Our Executive Director Paul Thomas on the new additions to our coaching staff:

We are very excited about George joining the club. George brings with him a tremendous amount of soccer knowledge and coaching experience. This will help in developing our players and improving their overall soccer experience.

And Tim is a young coach who already has a great deal of experience coaching both youth and college age players. I have no doubt his energy and passion for the game will be infectious for our players.”


About George

George moved to the US in 1994 from Canada.

While in Canada, he played for a number of professional teams representing Toronto Jets, Toronto Italia, Winnipeg Fury, a brief stint with Montreal Impact and played with Windsor Wheels which paved the way for him to come stateside along with the Detroit Wheels as one of three franchise players whom he captained the squad. The Detroit Wheels competed in the Great Lakes Division of USISL, the precursor to the current MLS structure.

Prior to playing pro, he was a standout player while attending Eastern Illinois University studying Graphic Design. He was also a member of the Canadian National Youth Team U20’s.

Since moving to the US, George has served in multiple coaching roles at the youth level with ECNL, Midwest Regional and National League member clubs. Prior to joining United FC Michigan, George worked as Technical Director at Troy Soccer Club, Director of Coaching at CW3 Extreme and Technical Director at Athletic Training Academy.

George also works part time as MSYSA’s instructional staff for Coaching Education, ODP staff member and also a part of Ohio’s ODP staff as an evaluator.

He holds a US Soccer ‘A’ License, US Youth Soccer ‘National Youth License’ and ‘Grassroots Instructor License’.

Additionally, he holds United Soccer Coaches ‘Special Topics Diploma’, ‘Goalkeeping Diploma’, ‘Director of Coaching Diploma’ and has been a lead Coerver Educator and Instructor.


About Tim

Tim begin his coaching career at 20 years old with Arsenal Soccer School in Singapore. Since then, he has coached with the academy teams in Singapore, as well as assisted with the men’s team as a video and performance analyst.

After moving to the US in 2017, he spent coaching in California before becoming director of college recruitment in Boston.

He relocated to Michigan in 2020 where he has been working with Eastside FC.

In addition to his coaching roles, Tim coaches with Oakland County FC in the Summer and Lawrence Tech University in the Fall.
He possesses an AFC "C coaching license.
